Getting Ready to Leave

This was so hard. This is one of the last photos we took at the Orphanage. I wanted to get a photo of the Half the Sky Tent on the right but could not because we really needed to take care of Sophie. The reason why I wanted to take a photo of the Half the Sky tent is because they were one of our two life lines to Sophie after the earthquakes. It gave me chills when we drove in for the first time and I saw there logo on the side of the tent.

In this photo you can see a long hallway behind me. Sophie started to fuss a lot! You can see her squirming out of my arms. I had thought about this moment in my head many times....practicing what to do....no time in the world could of prepared me for this, going through Sophie Wei doing this was so hard on us too. I just wish we could live closer to them so we could visit them more often.

As she squirmed out of my arms and down to the floor she started to run behind us and towards the hallway, crying as hard as she could. Rick was talking to one of the directors and I looked at him helplessly. She was grieving, she knew she was leaving and my heart broke for her because she was leaving her family and they love her very much!

Yes, it is a good thing for her to grieve them, that means she formed a healthy bond and once again we are so blessed for that.

The other tens on the left front of the orphanage.

Sophie starts to settle down a bit as Simone wants to share her Leapster game. What a day! Our little girl has been through so much.

What a bittersweet moment. You know that it is breaking your heart as well as hers to take her from the only life and family she knows. What Sophie doesn't realize yet, is the life she will now have with the most wonderful, loving, loyal family she could ever have. She is so lucky, and so are you! What a blessing this all is. A match made in heaven!

How gorgeous... as for Half The Sky... I have to say that I think that they do a great job... I sponsor a little girl through them and they have been letting me know that she is fine (her orphanage is in the earthquake area)... take care
