Later in the afternoon on day three my Mom and I went to the Brocade in Chengdu. It was amazing!! The last brocade machine on the far right of the above photo is more than 100 years old. Chengdu is known for its Brocading so I purchased two brocade panda bears that are framed for Rick for Fathers Day from the girls. One has a little panda bear on the back of the bigger panda bear and that is how Rick puts Simone to bed.
We learned that it takes two people to run one machine. One person on the bottom that controls the four long needles (see two on the bottom of the photo) and one person on top. We learned that it takes great cooperation for the two of them to accomplish this task. It was impressive to watch them in perfect harmony.
