On our way to the Panda Reserve we saw many tents along the road. Sandy, our guide, told us those are the homes for people that were affected by the earthquake. It was sad to see. Once again you could hear in Sandy's voice the affect the earthquake had on her and still does.

Rick asked her about the average monthly salarie for workers. The average salarie was around 2000 RMB per month. I think that is close to $250 per month in America and the poverty salary is around 600 per month which is around $100 in America.

Sandy picked up three things we ordered for the girls per her suggestion.

One is a Chop for Sophie. In the small red box. It has her Chinese name and Sophie on it.

The other two are paintings for the girls that were hand make by a local artist. They both have their Chinese names on them. Sophie Wei's is Ji Shi Wei and Simone's is Ling Xu Juan. They are beautiful!!
