Last Day In China Day Ten

Our last day in China.
Photos taken after breakfast in the White Swan Hotel.More of the artwork that is around the White Swan Hotel. The girls liked looking at them.

Here we are trying to take some read couch photos....Glad we took some the other day :O)

Simone not so happy about taking photos!!
Simone getting a little bit frustrated.

Hum!!!!!!!!!!!

Sophie Wei senses my frustration as we leave the red couch area and poses for me in front of the jade sculpture!! What a sweet little girl. How about this pose Mommy???

Snuggling with Simone, trying to make a deal with her so we can get one good family photo.

Got one!!!!!!!!!!!! Our family.

Then we moved to the area in front of the water fall for more photos.

I love this photo of Rick and Simone even though it is blurry.

My Mom was such a big help to us during this trip!!! I love you Mom and thanks for going to China with us....We had a blast even though it was emotional at times and we lacked sleep. So thankful you went with us. xoxo

We decided to hang out a little bit so they could finish cleaning our room.

Time for one more good photo :O)

Having fun as usual in the elevator. Every time we get in it, unless the girls are sleeping, they run back and forth a couple of times.

This was our best cleaning lady. She was so friendly and did the best with our room. She always had a smile for us.

We were lucky today because we saw our first glimps of blue sky in days. Due to the polution we did not see the blue sky until today. I think it was because of all of the rain it helped opened up the sky. Where are my sunglasses??!??
This statue is suppose to be symbolizing the American Family adopting in America. Too funny. We broke down and went to Lucy's which serves American food. It is very close to the White Swan, with in walking distance. Love the statues out front. While eating at Lucy's we were remembering our last time here when it was Lily's First Birthday and Polly and Neil had a birthday cake for her with candles. We talked about how we missed them and the Cox family. It brought back good memories. Not having other families was a bummer but atleast we had the five of us on this trip. We also were reminded of cigarette smoke, a lot of people smoke here in China, especially men. I had forgotten how nice it is to have restuarants here in America that are smoke free. It was a little hard to get use to for the first few days.
Three generations statue. The girls were very interested in the statue below!!Walking around Guangzhou.

Yes we went to Starbucks, twice, very Americanized.

One of the shops that we did a lot of shopping at.
As we were getting ready to go we went around to say good by to all of our new friends. Simone actually let one of the girls pick her up and she enjoyed it. I kept all photos even though they are blurry because it was so SWEET!!

More giggles.

My Mom purchased a bunch of art work from this artist who paints with his hands! I wish I would of purchased a painting. His Grandfather or Father was famous for this kind of painting.
Simone and Daddy in the elevator.

We ended up very sweaty after walking around but we enjoyed every minute of our last night.
Our favorite snack from the Deli Shop which is located just outside the White Swan (ran by White Swan.) It is big, about four inches. It is soft and flakey like a waffer but also has a tecture of a graham cracker and light fluffy stuff on the inside......I don't know why I am describing it because we all will remember it. We would take a couple of layers off at a time and share with the girls. It is called the Nepolian. See below photo.

Leaving China is bitter sweet, so happy to go home but leaving the birth country of our children is also sad at the same time. We hope as their parents we help them remember where they were born and lived for small part of their life. We plan on bringing the girls back when they are around fourteenish, when they can carry their own backbacks and no diapers will be involved :O)

How blessed are we to have such a safe travel to China and all remain healthy. We are so thankful and had another trip of a life time!!

Until we meet again!

You look so "lonely" in your group shot by the waterfall....and all alone at Lucy's with out us!? Too we couldn't have been there this time, but I have loved following along with the blog. The girls look beautiful in their quipaos and Sophie fits perfectly in the new and improved family photo.
